Emily Warren Roebling (1843–1903)
We are circling back to Emily Roebling because her contribution to the Brooklyn Bridge was much more than a simple hand-off. Managing a site of that scale for 11 years required a deep mastery of material science and the dangerous physics of construction. Emily had to learn the complexities of catenary curve calculations and the tension limits of steel cables from the ground up.

Crisis Management: She was responsible for overseeing the daily operations during the "caisson disease" crisis.
Technical Logistics: She managed crews who were working under high-pressure conditions while dealing with the technical logistics of the suspension system.
